Helping High Achieving Women Succeed on Their Own Terms with Dr Klara Gubacs-Collins (HHR EP014)
I hope you're all feeling amazing and ready to dive into some life-changing tips today. I had an amazing conversation with Dr. Klara Gubacs-Collins a few years back that I found super insightful and I wanted to share some golden nuggets with you all from that conversation.
Let’s chat about something we high-achieving women often struggle with—having too many talents and not knowing which one to pursue. Have any of you ever felt like you're a Swiss Army knife in a world that keeps asking for one specific tool? Trust me, I get it. And so does Dr. Gubacs.
Here's the deal: for the next two weeks, I want you to try this powerful exercise. Wake up a little earlier than usual and spend some quiet time meditating on what you truly want to do. And the kicker? Do this without worrying about anyone else's expectations. You're not trying to figure out how to become the next CEO overnight; this is all about connecting with your inner self. Once you discover what truly excites you, find small ways to incorporate it into your daily life.
Dr. Gubacs shared some deep personal anecdotes about following her true passions and the impact of parental regrets, which hit home for me. It's so important to follow your true calling and not ignore those persistent thoughts that pop into your head. They're there for a reason!

Now, let's touch on finding the right coach or mentor. Ladies, it's okay to admit you need help. In fact, it's powerful. Whether it's a coach, a mentor, or a supportive peer, having that person can accelerate your growth and save you from unnecessary struggle. Yes, being vulnerable can be tough, but it’s a game-changer.
Speaking of change, here’s a big one: delegate tasks that don't align with your strengths. Focus on what makes you unique and find your fulfillment there. Think about it—why spend your time doing something that drains you when you could be shining in your zone of genius? I know I would LOVE to hand over podcast processing. Oof.
And here’s a fun, practical step for identifying your inner genius: spend some time alone and really reflect. What motivates you? What excites you? What are your strengths? And perhaps equally important, what’s your preferred mode of communication? Whether it's speaking, writing, or listening, hone your skills in that area.
Dr. Gubacs emphasized making decisions based on personal fulfillment rather than societal expectations. This means doing what feels right for you—no matter what anyone else says. She shared this amazing story of helping a colleague embrace his genius and find happiness at work through acceptance. Talk about inspiring!
Before I sign off, I want to remind you to check out Dr. Gubacs' website where she’s offering a free gift that you'll absolutely love. Plus, she has an exciting book with even more goodies.
Until next time, keep thriving, keep shining, and remember -
